Manu Bhaker clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s Air Pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024, making history as the first Indian woman to achieve an Olympic medal in shooting  

 Bhaker secured third place with a score of 221.7 points, while South Korea’s Ye Jin set an Olympic record with 243.2 points to claim the gold medal.

Kim Yeji, also from South Korea, took home the silver with 241.3 points 

This victory signifies a remarkable comeback for Bhaker following a pistol malfunction at the Tokyo Olympics 

TBhaker's third-place finish in the qualification round marked the first time in twenty years that an Indian woman reached an Olympic final in an individual shooting event, since Suma Shirur in 2004.  1
