Tina Dabi :The first woman and the first Scheduled Caste (SC) candidate to top the UPSC Civil Services  

Tina Dabi made history in 2015 by becoming the first woman and the first Scheduled Caste (SC) candidate to top the UPSC Civil Services Examination on her first attempt. Her success inspired many young aspirants, particularly those from marginalized communities.

Born on November 9, 1993, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Tina excelled academically from a young age. She graduated with a degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, securing 100% marks in Political Science and History in her 12th standard ICSE board exams 

Tina's IAS journey began as an Assistant Collector in Ajmer in 2017. She has held significant roles, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Bhilwara, CEO of the District Council of Sri Ganganagar, Joint Secretary in the Finance (Tax) Department, and the 65th District Collector of Jaisalmer 

 Recently appointed as the District Collector of Barmer, Rajasthan, Tina continues to strengthen her leadership in Indian bureaucracy. Her husband, Pradeep Gawande, also an IAS officer, has been appointed as the District Collector of Jalore 

Tina married IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan in 2018, but the couple divorced in 2021 after two years of marriage. In 2022 

She remarried Pradeep Gawande, and they welcomed their first child, a son, in September 2023, showcasing her resilience through personal highs and lows.

During her academic years, Tina was recognized as ‘Student of the Year’ at Lady Shri Ram College for Women Tina enjoys reading, traveling, and painting. Her favorite authors include Jane Austen and Dan Brown, and she loves watching Bollywood movies like "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge." 

As she continues to serve in public administration, her story remains a powerful source of inspiration, emphasizing the impact of education and the courage to overcome challenges.
