Lawrence Bishnoi Gangster from Punjab

Lawrence Bishnoi is a famous name in the history of crime in India. Some people think of him as a hero, but the police and the law see him as a gangster because of his criminal actions. He says he is a student leader, but the authorities view him as a dangerous gangster, which has resulted in him being put in jail. He has around 24 criminal cases against him, including serious charges like murder and extortion, but he claims he is innocent. His gang reportedly has more than 700 shooters connected to it. Lawrence was born in a village in Ferozpur, Punjab.

Early life and Education

Lawrence Bishnoi comes from a family with contrasting backgrounds. His father, Lavinder Singh, was a policeman who served as a constable with the Haryana Police until he left the force in 1997 to become a farmer. It’s said that he has family land that is worth around Rs. 7.20 crores. He has always loved sports since he was a kid. When he was in college, he practiced wrestling at an akhara near Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. While in college, he was also a student leader for the Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU). His mother, Sunita, is a homemaker. Lawrence has a brother named Anmol Bishnoi, who is a boxer. Lawrence himself is not married and has no spouse.

His dad used to be a police constable, but then he quit that job to become a farmer. He ran for college president but lost the election, which caused some tension with the other party. At one point, he even fired a gun at the rival group, leading to a case against him in 2011.

Lawrence completed his schooling in Abohar and graduated from 12th grade in 2010. He then moved to Chandigarh to attend DAV College. In 2011, he joined the Panjab University Campus Students Council, where he met Goldy Brar, another gangster. They became involved in university politics and started committing crimes together. Lawrence later earned his LLB degree from Panjab University.

He came from a Punjabi family, but his mom decided to name him Lawrence, which is a Christian name that means shining, because he had light skin when he was born. As a kid, people affectionately called him ‘Milky’ because of his bright complexion.

The Tragic Transformation of Lawrence Bishnoi

The name “Lawrence Bishnoi” evokes fear, known as a notorious gangster responsible for numerous heinous crimes, including arranging murders from behind bars. One of the most infamous incidents linked to him is the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, which took place while Bishnoi was still in jail. However, not many know that before he turned to a life of crime, Lawrence Bishnoi was just an ordinary boy whose journey into the underworld began after a tragic love story in his school days.

Bishnoi’s life took a dramatic turn when he fell in love with his classmate Kajal during 10th grade at a convent school in Abohar, Punjab. The two were close friends and eventually wanted to spend their lives together. As Bishnoi entered college, he gained popularity and became involved in student politics, even contesting student union elections. However, his rise in college politics brought both supporters and rivals. After losing the election, Bishnoi’s rivals gained more power and began targeting him and Kajal. The rivalry turned deadly when members of the opposing gang allegedly burned Kajal alive in college, an incident officially labeled an accident. The loss of Kajal devastated Bishnoi, leaving him heartbroken and consumed by grief.

This tragedy marked a turning point in Bishnoi’s life, and he began forming a gang in college known as the Student Organization of Punjab University (SOPU). As his gang grew in strength, Bishnoi purchased a revolver and sought revenge against those he believed were responsible for Kajal’s death, marking the beginning of his criminal reign. Bishnoi’s transformation from a heartbroken lover into a feared gangster was fueled by this personal vendetta, leading him into a life of violence and crime.

Today, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is heavily scrutinized by police and security agencies, particularly in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Bishnoi’s influence has spread beyond Punjab, instilling fear across the entire country, despite his imprisonment. His ability to orchestrate crimes from jail and his deep-rooted desire for revenge highlight the dangerous path Bishnoi has chosen. Reports suggest that Bishnoi, who grew up in a wealthy family and enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle, initially planned a future with Kajal, but the brutal murder of his childhood love propelled him into the criminal underworld. His involvement in college politics and the relentless rivalry with opposing gangs only fueled his transformation.

The tragic death of Kajal in 2011 pushed Bishnoi further into darkness. He formed SOPU to avenge her death, eliminating rival student leaders, and earning his reputation as a dreaded gangster. Allegations of connections with Khalistani organizations have also surfaced, and several of his gang members have been arrested. Despite his criminal activities and reputation as one of India’s most dangerous gangsters, Bishnoi’s origins reveal the story of a heartbroken young man whose desire for revenge turned him into a feared criminal leader.

Jaggu Bhagwanpuri mentor of Bishnoi

It is said that Jaggu Bhagwanpuri, a gangster, is the mentor of Bishnoi. Back in 2010, during an exam, he was caught cheating with a note. When the teacher tried to take his answer sheet, he jumped out of a first-floor window, still holding onto it! His teachers described him as a very aggressive student who often argued with them. He even showed up to take exams while handcuffed after being arrested for firing a gun on campus. In 2015, he managed to escape from the Punjab police while they were taking him to court. He fled to Nepal and came back to Punjab with some weapons. A few months later, the police caught him again.

He is known as a notorious gangster, primarily recognized for his involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, a high-profile crime that shocked the nation. He has also gained notoriety for making threats against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in 2018, following the actor’s conviction in the blackbuck hunting case. His criminal activities and high-profile threats have made him a prominent figure in the underworld, drawing significant media attention and public scrutiny.

In 2018, while being escorted to court, Lawrence Bishnoi openly threatened to kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur, citing the actor’s involvement in the blackbuck hunting case as the reason. This statement, made in the presence of numerous police personnel, stemmed from Bishnoi’s desire for revenge as he belongs to the Bishnoi community, which holds deep reverence for deer. In 2021, Bishnoi was brought before the court again, this time for smuggling a mobile phone into jail. The device was confiscated by jail authorities, and it was reported that Bishnoi had been using the phone to orchestrate murders through WhatsApp from behind bars.
