That led to many fans demanding that Ishan Kishan be brought back to the national team, with such hashtags as #BRINGBACKISHANKISHAN trending on a platform that was previously known as twitter – X-platform.
Ishan showed good resilience in coming back to playing first-class cricket, when he scored a ton for Jharkhand in Buchi Babu Invitational tournament. But a groin injury he developed during the tournament made it impossible for him to feature in the Duleep Trophy which could have provided him with chances of reclaiming his place in the national team again. Still, his supporters plead for his comeback with reference to his talent and activity in previous meets.
It seems that there will be very little chance of Ishan Kishan returning to the Indian national team again. The wicketkeeper-batter had earlier pulled out of the side citing mental health related issues, which meant that he has not been part of the team across all three formats. Besides, his primary tender has been terminated. In this regard, people via the various online social media platforms have shown their support towards Ishan Kishan. One user highlighted Ishan’s unsuitable position, after performing 200 runs, given that he produced 82 runs against the Pakistan team in the Asia Cup T20 series, two consecutive fifty scores in T20 matches and a 50 score in Test match. This user convey sympathy for Ishan whose bad luck it was to be in the building when the fire started. A fellow user posted a clip of Kohli and Ishan during IPL where Kohli had been supportive to Kishan in his difficult phase of life when Kohli too had gone through his bad patch.
